Cairo, Egypt, the victorious city, is one of the most exciting cities in the world, the capital of Egypt. Its name "Al Qahirah" is derived from its resistance in face of its enemies although it had witnessed a numerous conquests through the ages. There is no words to describe its magnificence but there was one of the 1001 Arabian Nights in" The Tale of the Jewish Physician" which says: " He who hath (has) not seen Cairo hath not seen the world: its soil is gold, its Nile is a marvel, its women are like the black-eyed hours (nymphs) of Paradise, its houses are palaces; and its air is soft, more odorous than aloes-wood, rejoicing the heart. And how can Cairo be otherwise when it is the Mother of the World?" Yes, indeed, Cairo is the mother of the world, with its great hospitality and its tolerant people. Even though you passed by it for just one day, you can never forget its magic and prettiness - despite the existence of some defects within it. Cairo, Egypt is a mixture of many cultures such as Pharaonic, Greco-Roman, Coptic and Islamic cultures that is why it is a main centre for heritage and culture because it is full of a massive & uncountable number of monuments and treasures spread in Cairo and all over Egypt as well. |
