Once upon a time, when the whole world was nothing, only a wide primeval ocean, a Lotus flower emerged from the water with its beautiful essence and the sun god Re came out of it to illuminate the land of the Pharaohs – Egypt.
Since that time, a great civilization was born on the banks of the Nile River and Egypt has been making its history, passing through periods of stability interrupted with periods of instability, through peace and war. And before 25th of January 2011, history had been paused for a long time, so Egyptians decided to resume the history and change its course.
Actually, Egypt`s 2011 revolution, which lasted for 18 days, was a white peaceful revolution
demanding more freedom and justice as well as the change of the regime. Muslims and Christians united in this protest, they stood shoulder to shoulder with each others. One of the most compassionate scenes in Tahrir square when the Christians were protecting Muslims during prayers, forming a defensive ring to protect them. Muslims in turn, protected the Christians while praying. They were repeating “We are all one. Muslims and Christians are one“ and "Christians, Muslims…we are all Egyptians".
Finally, on February 11th, 2011, the world was watching the Egyptians when they fell the regime. Streets all over Egypt were filled with celebrations, musical bands joined the crowd, people were dancing, singing and waving flags enjoying their new found freedom and pride, they changed the universe. Then, on February 12th, protesters were awesome, they went back just to clean up Tahrir Square, they started cleaning up streets campaigns aiming at rebuilding a new country.
Today, we are inviting you to discover a New Egypt and watch the event. Egyptians are making history in front of your eyes, it will be an amazing experience that everybody has been waiting for all their life.
Now, everything in Egypt is normal, people headed back to work, cars are making their way to Tahrir square and archaeological sites are opened, including the major tourists` sites such as the famous pyramids of Giza and Egyptian Museum in Cairo. And if you are thinking of a place where you can relax on the marvelous sunny and sandy beaches, enjoy the clear turquoise water, take a glimpse of the amazing marine life and the unique fish species as well as the colorful coral reeve, it is Egypt.
We are witnessing a new phase in Egypt and have an optimistic vision so it would be our pleasure to share a lovely country with you where you can feel the spirit of national unity everywhere. We believe that we have a lot of work, Egyptians have started campaigns encouraging tourists to come back and to support freedom and democracy as well as to let everybody feel the difference. In addition, we have started a "Green Revolution" in Egypt as we want to raise awareness of sustainability and make everyone understand how to think green to make this country a better place, not just for the people living here, but also for the millions of tourists who visit Egypt every year and to let the world see our beloved Egypt Exciting, Green, Youth, Peaceful and Tremendous.
