Minya, the Bride of Upper Egypt, is a city of considerable size situated in Upper Egypt at the border of Upper and Lower Egypt on the western bank of the Nile River, approximately 245 km to the south of Cairo.
Minya was called in ancient Egyptian time (Men`et Khufu) from where the city`s current name is derived, (Men`et Khufu) means (The nurse of Khufu).
Minya is principally archaeological site, including Beni Hassan, Tell El Amarna, Hermopolis, Tuna El Gebel and more. |
