Greek Era
The Greek era in Egypt started when Alexander the Great entered Egypt in 331 B.C., invaded Egypt, took control of it and led to the fall of the Persian Empire in 341 B.C.
After Alexander the Great`s death, Ptolemy I, who was the commander of the army, ascended the throne of Egypt and became a king and started what is called `The Ptolemaic era` till the time of Cleopatra VI.
During the time of Cleopatra VI, the Romans invaded Egypt in 30 B.C. and the Greek Empire fell when their army was defeated by the army of Octavian in the battle of Actium after sessions of wars; finally Octavian became the ruler of the whole realm and declared himself as Emperor Augustus.
