Kharga is considered as the largest oasis in the Western Desert, it is called (The Great Oasis).
The main city of the oasis is also named (Kharga), its population reached above 6000 inhabitants. The Kharga oasis`s main source of income is from agriculture, in addition to other sources including tourism, carpet making, basket manufacturing, wood working and pottery.
Kharga Oasis` spectacular view and its mystical desert shrouds a long history started since Egypt`s ancient period, several ancient sites were discovered in the area. Tourists can explore the Oasis` heritage and monumental buildings by a 4 wheeled 4x4 vehicle. |
