Lower Egypt
Lower Egypt is a name applied on the Delta and small portions of the beginning of Upper Egypt; it refers to North of Egypt.
During ancient Egypt, the capital of Lower Egypt was Buto in western Delta, nowadays Tell El Farain. It was originally the seat of worship of goddess Wadjet, the cobra.
In Lower Egypt, the seat of the worship of Horus was at the beginning in the western Delta, whereas in the eastern Delta there was another god dominating `Andjety`, later on, Horus became the supreme deity of the whole Delta.
The King of Lower Egypt wore the red crown, known in ancient Egypt as Deshret, which was the crown of goddess Neith of Sais (Sa El Hagar), and the emblem of Lower Egypt was the Papyrus flower.
