Ottoman Empire
The Ottoman Empire, also known the Turkish Empire, was an empire that lasted for many centuries, its realm extended in three continents, Southeastern Europe, Western Asia and North Africa.
The Ottoman Empire enclosed 29 provinces and numerous portions; one of these countries was Egypt which was subjugated by the Ottomans in 1517 after several attempts. Sultan Seliem I was the one who established the Ottoman rule in Egypt, he also constructed a fleet on the Red Sea in order to defend Egypt from any danger coming from this side.
In 1798, French expedition and the forces of Napoleon entered Egypt and they left in 1801. After that, Mohamed Ali seized power in 1805; he was a military commander in the Ottoman army of an Albanian origin. Mohamed Ali and his successors ruled Egypt as a complete independent country while the Ottoman sovereignty was continued until 1914 when the British invasion in Egypt in 1914 and declaring the Britain full control over Egypt.
The Fall of the Ottoman Empire was most probably due to the economic recession as the Empire was huge and to combine all the regions economically was very difficult. In addition to the difficulties that faced the Ottomans to communicate all territories to each others.
