Numerous minor Oases are near Siwa, the small one is called Qara Oasis, where Alexander passed by it on his way to Siwa, what distinguish Siwa Oasis the most is the presence of many salt lakes, that shrunk in size during summer, there is many destinations to see in Siwa Oasis as the most famous one is Aghurmi where lies the temple of the Oracle of Amun remains, Situated on a small rock outcrop to the east of the oasis, which was constructed during the XXVI Dynasty, there are two major historical events related to this place the tragic expedition of Cambyses army and the triumphal visit of Alexander the Great.
